High Pass and its low pass counter part

Post by tomczak »

Is there an easy way of obtaining the discarded low-pass portion of an image in the High-Pass transformation. I was thinking of blurring the image with the same radius, but I'm not sure the blurring methods/radii are corresponding somehow. If they are not, would it be difficult to have an option in High Pass to output the low pass portion, if requested?

I was hoping to experiment with various blending gambits...

You can make your own high and low pass images easily:

Low pass is just a straight Gaussian blur of the same radius with no halo reduction or threshold.
High pass is the offset difference between the original and the blurred version.
