I've been running PWP 3.5 for quite some time. I originally bought 3.1. I'm planning on finally upgrading again. I know that with 3.5, when I install on to a new hard drive, I have to use my original 3.1 CD since the install is an upgrade and it wants proof of prior version.
I was wondering if the new version also worked that way. I have the CD so no issues if it does, but I am concerned that since newer machines are starting to come out without CD/DVD drives (speaking about lightweight laptops), I don't want to run into issues in the future where I need to hang on to that old CD.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Upgrade and Old CD
To use an upgrade serial number, you need to show proof of purchase of a previous version. That proof can be either a previous serial number or a CD for versions before serial numbers were introduced. So in your case, your PWP 3.5 serial number will be sufficient and you will not need your CD.

Thanks for the information. I was hoping you would move away from requiring the CD.
