I have searched the archives about this but only found old and out of date answers.
I am trying to apply the 3-Tone Adjustment Transformation on a stitched panorama with 300Mb.
During "Building Masks" I am getting the "Out of Memory" window. It workes perfectly on a 100Mb image.
I am working with Windows 7/64 and 8Gb Ram, PWP5.
Anything I have to adjust, or is it time to upgrade to PWP6/64?
Thanks, Jo

You can start by adjusting the size of your swap file if you haven't done so already (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... ual-memory). Set the swap file to as close to 4GB as you can get. Switching to 64-bit PWP (and 64-bit Windows) would definitely help as well when working on such large files.

Thanks for your quick reply.
The virtual memory was set at 8Gb as the size of Ram installed. I doubled that, but I still get the "out of memory" message.
What can I do now?

Re: Out of memory message
The address space for 32 bit applications is limited to 2GB. This is because the largest number that can be expressed in 32 bits is 4GB. This space is divided 50-50 between the operating system and the application. So if you are running a 32 bit version of PWP, increasing space beyond 4GB will not help. The solution is to run a 64 bit version of the program, so you can make use of the additional memory.
(Doubling the number of bits squares the amount of memory that can be addressed -- so 64 bits can address 16 billion gigabytes.)

Thanks Kiril,
I have just installed PWP6/64 and it works like a charm.
