Hi,
I'm trying to copy the GPS coordinates from an image to the clipboard on Windows 7 with PW Pro 32 v6.0.8.
From the Image Properties window, they display correctly under "GPS". If I click on the Map button and select "Go to map web site", it puts up a Window of the PW Program folder on C: (huh?) If I select "Copy to clipboard", and paste to a document, I get the previous item on the clipboard, in this case an image, but not the coordinates I thought I just copied.
I presume some setting is broken somewhere?
Thanks for any help.

Bob,
You can set the URL that will be used for GPS functions under Map/Edit Map Site URL. This url will be used when you select Go to Map Web Site. How the map web site supports the clipboard is, of course up to the web site. Google allows you to copy location information from their web page. You can then insert it into any place which accepts a text string. For example you can copy it into the location field of the User Comments dialog.

Re: PW Pro 32 6.0.8 unable to extract GPS coordinates
Thanks, Kiril.
It works now. It's funny though - I installed PW 6 on my laptop just to try this and the Google Maps url http://maps.google.com/maps?q=%LatLong% was already set up, I did not have to enter it. I just pressed "Go to map web site" and it displayed, very nice. So I copied this into the blank url field in PW 6 on my desktop computer with "Edit map site url".
And secondly, why does the program use a convoluted way to expect the web site to copy the coordinates to the clipboard? PW has the coordinates right there from the image, why doesn't it just copy them to the clipboard itself? And none of these problems would have happened if PW 6's "Image Properties" window had displayed Lat/Long in a user-friendly way as selectable text. :-)

Re: PW Pro 32 6.0.8 unable to extract GPS coordinates
Actually in testing the Map function, I discovered there is a bug in the "Copy to Clipboard" menu choice. This is now fixed and will be available in the next update. Just to clarify with the fix in place, here is how the map function works:
Go To Map Web Site: Opens a map web site in your browser and sends it the GPS coordinates. The default site is Google Maps. One was to use this feature is to copy the place name from the mapping site into the location field of the image's comments.
Copy To Clipboard: Copies the GPS lat and long coordinates to the clipboard as text. This allows you to insert them into another application.
Edit Map Site URL: Allows you to change the URL used by the first function above, in case you want to use a site other than Google Maps.
