Last time when I worked with PWP (version 8.0.468) I closed it completely empty - no tree, no open images, no loaded scripts.
When I started the PWP today, it was still empty but also the entire window was completely frozen.
Imposible to click anywhere except for that system beeping sound.
I tried to solve the problem by overwriting my last version with the PWP latest version (8.0.476).
But it did not help.
I also should mention that it opens only as a thumbnail down in the Windows task bar and has to be maximized.
I am not sure but it is possible that at that time I closed the PWP "hurriedly and unsystematically" using the upper right X button.
Perhaps it might get something to do with closing a completely empty workspace before it got time to save automatically.

It sounds like your session.state file got corrupted somehow. Try renaming your session.state file (located in the folder: c:\users\<username>\appdata\local\Picture Window Pro\Session State) and then restarting PWP. If that works, close PWP which will create a fresh session.state file. You can preserve the various settings saved in session.state by copying the lines that look something like this:
window_placement 2 -1 -1 -1 -1 273 176 3177 1820 3
browser_window_placement 0 -1 -1 -1 -1 671 2287 2170 3151 1
preview_window_placement 0 -1 -1 -1 -1 775 2253 1846 3051 1
favorites_window_placement 0 -1 -1 -1 -1 740 2655 985 2949 1
from the new session.state file PWP created when it exited to the renamed session.state file and then renaming it back to session.state.

Re: Empty workspace opens frozen
Renaming the Session.state file helped.
New file was created and everything is OK.
Thanks.

Re: Empty workspace opens frozen
If you can send me the old session.state file I can try to figure out what went wrong.

Re: Empty workspace opens frozen
I am sorry but once I got the PWP going I deleted the old file.
But I will try to simulate the problem and if I succeed I will send the file.
