question - Equalize transformation and banding in output image

The histogram displayed in the Equalize transformation is automatically smoothed (see histogram smoothing under the curve control settings menu). The one in the histogram tool is not. It does mention this in the help file for Equalize. Histogram smoothing was omitted as an option in the histogram tool since it does not apply to a number of the available types of histograms.
