Linear Gradient
I am unable to change the angle of the linear gradient. It remains vertical no matter how I try to move the numbered indices at either end.

Change "Type" to Skew (from Vertical) and you should be good.

Adjusting the angle of a gradient might become more intuitive (at least for me) if either of the following could be implemented.
1. Make the operation more similar to adjusting the position and angles in the crop transformation, that is, to change the angle, depress shift and use the mouse.
2. Make adjustment of the angle similar to using a mechanical dial or knob with detents for vertical and horizontal.
