File Open crash

Post by tomczak »

My PWP 8.0.100 crashes on File Open, Open from Default, and Open Multiple. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I just replaced .exe file, rather than doing a full install.

What version of Windows are you using? Is it up to date?

In the meantime, while I don't think it will make a difference, you could try a full install.

I'll try. It's Windows 10 18362.778.

Do you have a default folder defined? If so, are you sure it is valid? If not, is your My Pictures folder valid?

It turns out that the Default Folder wasn't valid - it was pointing to an external drive that was not connected. Once the Default folder was defined to a valid path, the PWP doesn't crash anymore.

I thought it must be something like that -- I am adding code to the next release to check if the folder exists before trying to add it to the dialog box.
