Couple questions on this dialogue.
Display Preview button is depressed by default.
First, what is the difference between the "Apply" button and the "Compute Entire Output Image" button?
If I click the Apply button to see the effect of a blur radius (and I guess this question relates to all dialogues which have an Apply button), and then click "Reset", is the effect supposed to be reversed? If yes, it seems to not work. The preview window resets but not the large image.
And, it also appears if the Compute Entire Output Image is clicked, then Reset is clicked, the same thing happens, the preview window is reset but not the large image.

Re: Gaussian Blur
Apply is like OK but it keeps the dialog box open. Like OK, it propagates any changes through the image tree. If there are no other transformations that depend on the current one, it just updates the output image to match the preview.
Compute Entire Output Image just updates the output image to match the preview but does not propagate changes through the image tree. Use this if you want to see the entire output image with the current settings applied to it and not just the small preview in the dialog box.
The idea is that for transformations that take a while to compute and which you normally need to preview at 1:1, the small preview area can be updated much faster when you change settings. The Compute Entire Output Image button then lets you see the effect on the full output image at its current zoom factor.

Re: Gaussian Blur
If you want to reset the output image, you need to hit Compute Entire Output Image again after hitting Reset, which resets small 1:1 preview only.

Re: Gaussian Blur
Sorry for the test post, but I tried sending a reply two times and both would not submit, telling me the site was not receiving (or similar message). Just didn't want to try a third longish post and also get it kicked.
Anyway, I guess I was confused because GB dialogue does not seem to work the way other transforms do (perhaps because of heavy memory required?). Most other transforms start with the side by side and when I initiate a change or reset from that change, the Output image changes, without the need to click the running man.
However, for GB any change and reset only take affect on the Output when the running man is clicked (although, of course, the Preview window changes).

Re: Gaussian Blur
There are a number of transformations that have their own preview within their respective dialog boxes, and all of these work more or less the same way.
You could make a case for Reset updating the output image, even though it does not update automatically when you start up the transformation, so I went ahead and added this to all the transformations with their own previews: Advanced Sharpen, Denoise, Gaussian Blur, High Pass, Linear Blur, Precise Gaussian Blur, Unsharp Mask and Watercolor.
The downside is that Reset can take a lot longer since it now has to compute the full size output image.
