Soft proofing a full-screen image?
I just created a custom profile for my printer and added it to the color management dialog. I am using the identical colors + BPC options on both proofing intents, but I really need to read the relevant help + other documents several more times to be sure this is the right choice. I was surprised by...

Re: Lost in Windows 10 display settings
My long answer: I have one of these Intel built-in graphics processors on my notebook (linked to a separate Nvidia graphics processor in an "Optimus" design--when the Nvidia is doing the heavy graphics work, the Intel chip mostly just transfer the results into the notebooks graphics memory...

Re: JPG banding issue
JPEGsnoop is a good tool for analyzing JPEG characteristics and compression levels (open source, Windows executable, no installation required, but only for people who know all about the JPEG format, which I don't). Anyway, I attach the output for the two jpeg images of the first post in this topic....

Re: Work in Progress
Well, I didn't mean to imply that MS had implemented unreasonable requirements for program design (I'm not a programmer), but I wonder, for instance, how Apple (I'm not a Mac user) handled the introduction of the high DPI "Retina" displays a few years ago: did graphics programs have to be ...

Re: Work in Progress
Just as an off-the-cuff tip for everyone: open the Help-->About Picture Window Pro dialog. The pixel dimensions and depth of your display as recognized by the program are listed there. In my case, on a 4K screen at 200% scaling in the Windows 10 display settings, that's 1920x1080@24bits/pixel shown ...

Re: Confused about setting up batch processing of multiple images
O.K., many many thanks for the details on how to get this batch business going. (I confess to having forgotten about the new manual PDFs, I just read the CHM help file.)

Confused about setting up batch processing of multiple images
Hello, I'm really confused about how to automate the processing of multiple images in PWP8. The help file in its great detail is not helping... I have folders of TIFF images which need to be flipped using the rotate/mirror transformation and then re-saved in the same location with the same file name...

Re: Ctrl-F Full Screen Display can significantly raise core temps
I think you've done all the <understatement>reasonable</understatement> checks for malware! Maybe this is a video driver thing: if you've installed the video card drivers from the manufacturer, rather than just the Microsoft Update versions (this is what I had to do in order for PWP8 to recognize th...

Re: Ctrl-F Full Screen Display can significantly raise core temps
I'm sure you've already done this, but one thing to do to diagnose such performance issue is to start Windows without all the start-up items in the background, i.e. run msconfig.exe and select the following options before restarting the computer: Annotation 2018-12-24 124438.jpg This at least establ...
