Re: PWP and color profiles
I thought the imaging libraries that PWP uses would automatically recognize the usual EXIF/DCF tags for ColorSpace that are embedded in the JPEG metadata by most cameras, e.g. from exiv2.org/tags.html the ColorSpace tag is described as: The color space information tag is always recorded as the color...

Re: Advanced Search of PWP Forums
Here are updated Firefox search plugin files for the old archived DL-C.COM board and for the current DL-C.COM board which have a proper DL-C.COM embedded icon, rather than a generic Google search icon. Save this as e.g. dl-c-com-new-board.xml : <SearchPlugin xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/2006/b...

Re: Advanced Search of PWP Forums
For what it's worth, here's what I do to search the Picture Window support board using Google and the Firefox browser. 1) I use Firefox's " Search Bar " function, the text search field that is part of the default top bar at the top of the Firefox window, and I also use " Add to Search...

Re: Fine Mouse Movement Control Software
I'm aware of one difference between holding CapsLock and Left Mouse Button when using the keys to move the mouse pointer: CapsLock moves the mouse pointer, but LeftMouse Button can drag an object using a mouse pointer. Quite right! I really should not post on forums when tired... Of course dragging...

Re: Fine Mouse Movement Control Software
The text in the original posting by mjdl contained a warning about its inapplicability for a desktop computer with keyboard and mouse. Since I do all my editing on a desktop computer and color calibrated monitor, do you agree that I should ignore this thread? Doug (I've been off-line for a couple o...

Fine Mouse Movement Control Software
Just a recommendation for fine mouse movement control software (freeware) that I've been using recently that works very well when using PWP on a notebook: JKLMouse . From that page: Do you ever want to move something on the screen by exactly one pixel? Or two? Or three? Or line up a window or object...

Re: File size / Metadata
To learn more about the contents and encoding of your JPEG images than sensible people really need to know, download and use the freeware "JPEGsnoop" JPEG analysis utility.

Re: Photo organizing technique or software?
I really need to organize my mushrooming collection of images and sort through them, and I just discovered a deceptively simple but highly functional media organization software for the Windows platform developed by a British group, called " Diffractor ". It is freeware for non-commercial ...

Re: Color of Window Titlebar
I've set up a "Windows Classic" non-Aero theme on Windows 7 just for the reasons you mention. To achieve a completely neutral grey Windows theme, ensure that the colour settings for UI elements "3D Objects", "Active Title Bar", "Active Window Border", "Ap...

Re: PWP 6.0.10: Color Management not saving all settings to file
Thank you for the answer. I'm assuming "next release" means PWP 7.0 (I must admit I've scarcely tried the 7.0 betas).
