Re: Transparency ?

. I can't click on it and I never see it offered as a mask.
Don't know if this is the case, but most often I don't see masks because the mask pixel dimensions are not identical to image pixel dimensions.

2:1 button in sharpen previews

Would it make sense to make the 2:1 button a toggle instead of momentary? I often want to see the enlarged preview as I adjust settings - it works, but I need to keep changing the zoom often. p.s. I think I discovered a way to keep the 2:1 depressed - not sure if intended but it works: press the 2:1...

Re: Saving Custom Crop ratios

Not sure if this will suffice, but if you Save Settings with a custom ratio, you could reload it later and the ratio under Custom will be preserved. You can save several settings, each with different custom ratio.

Re: Resizing for the web

The Export already has sharpening options, which may be all you need. For even more control, one can turn off the Export's sharpen and sharpen it 'manually' as a step beforehand. At each resolution there is probably a visual benefit if it is slightly sharpened before saving, trying not to overdo it.

Re: Resizing for the web

I think that screens today are mostly full HD (1920×1080 px) or lower. It may make sense to downsample images to this or lower pixel dimensions (and possibly sharpen them at this size in the end) for online publishing. p.s. There is a, usually subtle, decision to make if you produce two outputs of d...

Pasted image and saving workspace script with images

It looks like the copied-and-pasted images don't save with the workspace script with images. Is that how it should work, and if it does, what can I do to save the whole workspace, including the pasted images?

Preserving zoom of auxiliary images

Holding ALT key when clicking on images preserves zoom level, but not when an auxiliary image is clicked on (e.g. an overlay in Blend).

Re: Using Denoise before Mulipass Sharpen

Quick job with the old Neatimage. I'm out of practice with it, but I know this: it works best if there are flat training areas - i.e. all noise and no moss. If that's not possible, another image with the same settings/noise profile could do. This is personal, but I like some noise/grain. What I find...

Re: Portrait blemishes and low pass

Nothing new, but my attempt of simulating what a band pass (for face blemishes for instance) could look like. The settings could be refined and the red channel is blown in the sample image, but it's all in the spatial domain. The guided/bilateral blurring with its blur threshold is even more flexibl...

Re: Portrait blemishes and low pass

Clearly this is an effect you would only want to apply selectively to faces for example. I think yes - the Detail Tool is probably the best place for it. For the latest Valentine's projects it ended up being some 800 images, all with a face in them. And it wasn't artificially beautifying - more lik...
