As Kiril suggests, if it is a K7, it might not be supported by the dcraw version that PW uses. (Only the newest dcraw supports the K7). I think you see one of the reasons to store your files as DNG here!

Dale, I agree to a certain extent... it's annoying that you cannot close windows you don't need, especially in a program that creates new windows after about every editing step. Kiril said (a few months ago) to have a look at this, e.g. by giving the user the choice to close the window or not. That'...

I convert my (Pentax) files to DNG when I import them into Adobe Lightroom, mainly because they become much smaller then. My camera can store them directly as DNG's, but then they are not compressed. I once did compare the resulting TIFF from an image imported as (a) PEF and (b) DNG (all in LR) and ...

There's Transformation/Sharpen, and Transformation/Advanced Sharpen... it should be there!
