If I can download a pdf file I can easily transfer that file to my iPad and peruse it when I'm off-line.

Would it be possible to make it a selection button on the Transformation dialog, rather than in the setting? That way we could make our choice on the spot - do I want the histogram to reflect the entire image or just the masked part.

I think I cracked the code - I bypassed Norton Internet Security and successfully installed the latest PWP8 update. You have to turn off an NIS capability called "Download Intelligence." Here's how to do that: Open NIS. Underneath "Settings" click on "Firewall" and then...
