+, - and * are keyboard accelerators, but only when entered using the numeric keypad. There is no easy way to override keyboard accelerators in different situations. The only option would be to remove +, - and * as shortcuts for zooming. Personally, I never use them so I could go either way.

It turn out a rotation feature is already implemented (see the two buttons at the far right of the tool bar at the top of the transformation dialog box. This rotates the coordinates of all the specks 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise.

This assumes images are always rotated in the same direction. It would probably require user intervention to tell PWP which way to rotate.

Ctrl-Alt only works at the transition between recalculating one transformation and the next, so if one of them is taking a long time you may have to hold the keys down for a while. It appears there is no warning if you uninstall the previous version before installing the latest one. You should only have to do this at most once.
