Re: color balance
You folks are amazing! My mother did color slide photography in the 50s and 60s, first on Kodachrome and then Ektachrome. These were stored in poor conditions, with heat and humidity. The Kodachromes still look good, but the Ektachromes have all gone very badly magenta. Online discussions indicate t...

Re: Can't open or save files
You might want to run checks on your hard drive, and also confirm that your important files are identical to their backups (and don't write over the backups). I wouldn't just ignore this, especially if something like this happens again, because it might be a flaky hard drive that will eventually fai...

Re: PWP Crashing
Thanks for your quick response. I was indeed using the Paint tool with large brush sizes (to paint out sepia background through fairly complicated masks). The crashes didn't occur during those operations, but the buffer might have been full due to previous operations. I left the tool open from image...

PWP Crashing
Yesterday I was using PWP (Version 7.0.17 on Win10-64) to clean up about five dozen page scans, and I experienced several random crashes. I didn't start really paying attention to these until about the third one, and the three after that all happened when I was using the Paint Tool. I don't remember...

Re: Pasting into Text Tool not working
Kiril,
Thanks for your speedy and helpful response. Right-clicking in the text block and selecting Paste works, but left-clicking in the text block to get a blinking cursor and then doing Ctrl-V doesn't seem to work.

Pasting into Text Tool not working
I am not able to paste text from the Windows clipboard into the Text Tool dialog using either Ctrl-V or Edit | Paste (Win7-64 and Win10-64, PWP 7.0.17). I seem to remember that I could do this paste in previous versions of PWP, but I may be remembering that incorrectly. I also just noticed that when...

Re: Scroll Button not working?
I did a very quick test using 10 random jpg, png, and bmp files ranging in size from about 200K to 270 meg. I loaded a few different combinations of these files into PWP, and I was never able to find a situation where the hand tool worked. ALT-drag worked in all cases that I tried.

Re: Scroll Button not working?
In case this is useful information, selecting the "hand" also doesn't do anything on my Win10-64 PWP 7.0.17 installation. ALT-drag works fine.

Re: Text and super/sub script
Here's an approach to getting sub/superscripted text into PWP that works if you also have Powerpoint in addition to Word. First create the "equation" in Word using the Equation Editor, and then copy it into the clipboard. Then open a blank slide in Powerpoint and select "Paste Special...

Re: anyone used VirtualBox on Linux to host PWPro?
Since no one else has replied: My experience is 3 years old, but at that time PWP ran okay in VBox on either Xubuntu or OSX. However, the VBox graphics system didn't seem to support color lookup tables for color management. There was some slowdown relative to running on the bare metal, but not too n...
