Re: All Good Things Come to an End
Thank you Jonathan and Kiril: you have taught me a lot about digital processing...much more than I could have learned by using all the other tools put together!

Re: Rendering Intent
Thanks Jonathan, this clears things up. (I should have explored the white papers: I searched only this forum and the electronic manual.) So I have just photographed a friends art works which she may wish me to print. If I was to use "Preserve Identical Colors and White Point" am I likely t...

Rendering Intent
I'm puzzled (as usual).
I've come across the terms Perceptual, Colorimetric: Relative and Absolute in discussions/articles about color management.
I'm not sure how these terms relate (if at all) to PWP's Rendering Intent options when it comes to setting the Color Management options.

Re: DNG file weirdness
Thanks Charles.
I've tried that and a couple of other with no success.
It seems as though I'm stuck with tiffs.

Re: DNG file weirdness
Thanks for the replies Charles and Kiril, I appreciate the time you've given me. Depending on what I want to achieve with the image I also use DxO Optics Pro and newly Capture One (C1). I usually finish the process in PWP. Normally I can work with Tiffs but the Tiff files generated from the Canon 5D...

DNG file weirdness
I'm trialing a new work flow that involves using a dng file. When I open a file (produced in other software) in PWP (v7.01.17a) after the raw dialog process I get a striped image (see attached). Any clues?

Re: Photo organizing technique or software?
I will put in a plug for Daminion (www.daminion.org). It is purely a digital asset manager. The interface is simple, the cataloguing options are comprehensive and the search capabilities are powerful. A right mouse click on the displayed selected raw image can take me straight to PWP for editing.
