Re: Can't even get started!
Jonathan, you're a star!!! As ever I can't say how much your depth of knowledge is valued. It appears to be one of the profiles that is causing difficulty with PWPro v7. When I tried to upload it to the message board, it said invalid file type. I'm guessing it isn't happy with *.icm files. I tried z...

Re: Can't even get started!
One further thing, which may be relevant. I've just tried installing a copy of v6.10, and it gives the same fault as on v7. If I open 'color management', the window pane is blank. Now it so happens that previously I'd installed some profiles using self-extracting files, from a paper supplier. One wa...

Re: Can't even get started!
Thanks Jonathan. Well, I have been very tardy about updating Win 7, so maybe that's it. Not looking promising then! No, this isn't on a network drive, it's my C: drive. It's interesting that the reason I came across v8 of PWPro is that my version of v7 crashed, and I had to use the task manager to e...

Re: Can't even get started!
Yes it is, believe it or not! But it doesn't make any difference, and in any case I can't open my own '*.jpg' files.

Can't even get started!
I'm running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 on an i7 PC. The installation went OK, and on opening I'm presented with the app framework but of course no images. I find I'm not able to open images as they are not recognized. To test it, I opened your sample image of the bird. However, in doing so, this immed...

Re: Who is still out there?
Well I'm still around too, using PWPro as and when. I've just got around to installing v7! In fact I was looking for a link to the White Papers, as they don't seem to come down with the package. I'm sure it was posted here long ago. [Edit - I've found it!] Good to know that you are still working awa...

Re: Correcting for uneven illumination
Thank you Dietr. I tried fiddling with some images I took a while ago and it seems to work, though I can't make up my mind whether it is just adding a varying amount of a grey tone to the original in order to even out the original, or whether it is actually darkening the lighter parts of the origina...

Re: Correcting for uneven illumination
Thanks Dietr. OK, so I have my image and the b/w "mask" (for want of a better term) in which the brightest bits are white and the darkest bits grey. What blending mode should I use? Lighten? (Sorry, I find some of the terms which describe the different blending modes rather obscure!). Pesu...
