Re: PWP Seminar(s)
I agree that a live "webinar" would be great fun for all who were able to sync their free time with that event (in-person great if even possible ???), but setting up a YouTube PWP channel that made user help videos and even a recording of that live gathering, should it happen, and maybe po...

Installing PWP on Linux Mint 12 and Ubuntu 11.10
This new series of releases is very much a break from the past and a new step forward. So will it break my PWP? Turns out getting PWP running now is yet easier. My experience, using the previous tips, got it going with a bit more effort. This one was easy. See the Distro I use at http://www.linuxmin...

Re: Picture window 5.0 on ubuntu linux
Thank you for the update. Doing a reinstall on a new Ubuntu-based Linux Mint setup, I noticed that Winetricks now is back at http://winetricks.org/winetricks So in Step 2 the command needs to be: wget http://winetricks.org/winetricks Followed your suggestions and, at least before rebooting, all seem...

Re: Picture window 5.0 on ubuntu linux
Upgrades also need the permission bit reset. Doing this is easy. Right click to get a menu with Permissions at the bottom and check to make the file executable. The notes on the latest version of PWP refer to Linux and this thread. I guess many will read and follow the discussion and advice, but the...

Re: Forum Question / Sugestion
Did a search and found this how-to: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=544131 Reading a bit suggested that newer versions may have broken this 2007 solution and that this 2009 approach might work: http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26519&start=10 More hits...

Thank you both. Installing PWP5.0 on Linux Mint Gloria worke
As a Linux newbie and fan, I had tried and erred a few times when gathering up hints from other discussions, but after uninstalling and wiping all previous wine remnants to assure a fresh start, I just cut and pasted MikeG's revision of lt_gustavsen's script, line by line, and PWP opened up fine. On...

Thanks kieth for that link, and in reply to ksinkel
the Browse Window was trying to display bird.jpeg . Startup also hung when attempting to load the tutorial which also means loading that image. After reading through the thread Kieth linked I'm sure it is simply my failure to correctly do the few rather small steps needed to allow PWP to work within...

Excellent idea. I've been trying to run PWP5.0 in Linux
under Wine and, being a newbie to Linux, have only been partially successful. During my first tries with Linux Mint (I like it!) I had it going with one glitch (contextual help display) and found what was suggested a solution, but other problems (ATI driver installation errors by me), wiped out thos...

Re: Can become/are WorkFlowFiles like plug-ins or macros
Thanks, Bob. The .wfl files I have (very simple ones) don't include masks and are quite small, so I didn't realize that specific masks were embedded in your workflow files. I imagined wrongly that the Workflow would just fail or pop up a requester unless appropriate masks were open. The Workflows ar...

Can become/are WorkFlowFiles like plug-ins or macros
on other programs? In other words, can the work and brainpower other PWP users put into developing some processing procedure that they have have found useful be shared with the rest of us by simply uploading the .wfl files to some site where others can just download them and give them a try and mayb...
