Window in use by color control (when not)--can't close

I am having a problem with the latest version, in that I sometimes am getting the message "Window in use by color image control--can't close" even when there is no transformation open. And if this happens, even if I hit "close all windows" (and lose changes) nothing closes! I have to force-quit.
This latest occurence happened when I was using the Text transformation.. I added text to an image (which creates a second image)...I can close the second one (with the added text) but I can't close the original image (pre-text.)
