If you just delete the file, it will build a new one, but you will need to re-enter your camera settings.

Interesting -- I kept getting my camera settings back in the rebuilt files, so it must be picking up the info someplace else. I think I have now scoured the system, but have not yet had time to download the new version.

The file is stored in one of two places:

1) C:\ProgramData\DoF\
2) C:\Users\Your User Name\Dropbox\Apps\DoF

I had deleted both the dof.txt file and its backup plus I cleared the temp internet files and the recycle bin, and I had uninstalled and deleted the original program. I just now downloaded and installed the new version -- it shows my camera data and no distance data (just the 3 vertical lines)!! It also does not have the reset button.

I don't have a dropbox folder -- where else could that data be hiding?

P.S., I'm using Win7 Premium Home and IE11

It's got to be in one of the two locations I mentioned earlier:

1) C:\ProgramData\DoF\
2) C:\Users\Your User Name\Dropbox\Apps\DoF

Anyway there is no Reset button, but you should be able to reset the scales now with the new Reset Scales command by clicking the ? button and choosing the last menu item.

The About DoF command (also on the ? button menu) should say version 4.0.11.0. I just downloaded it here and it works.

Just got the Update on my S2.
Works fine now.
Thanks again, Jonathan.

Btw, do you plan to add the possibility to enter the focal length either in "real" physical values or as alternative in "effective" (in respect to 24x36) values ?
My Fuji S9600 bridge camera (and others, too) has effective focal lenth values marked on the barrell, and one would need calculate the actual physical focal length (and of course it's not a simple factor where its easy done ...)

Interesting idea... I could probably add something in the camera dialog since one would want this on a per-camera basis.

Bingo!
I've just used my allotment of "dumb" for this decade.
Thank you for your patience, Jonathan.

Dieter,

I just posted a new version (Windows and Android) that has a setting in the Camera Dialog (Focal Length) to accommodate cameras marked with 35mm equivalent focal length. The Android version may not be visible for a few hours.

Thanks Jonathan,

Works fine as far I can say from a quick lookover.
