In addition to the zoom tool Kiril mentioned there is also the magnifier tool which lets you view part of an image window at 1:1. Unfortunately it does not work on preview windows, but otherwise it should do what you need. I do understand that double-click cannot be used. However, it would be very handy that the location of a right mouse click + zoom in (or go to 1:1) is used. So move the mouse cursor to the location you want to zoom to 1:1, right click and choose 1:1. Now it will zoom in at the center (of the viewed image portion ), which is seldom what is wanted.

Something I learned : The magnifier tool is very handy when using 1/x, so in effect showing a less zoomed in image. Very handy when retouching at high enlargement settings.
