Re: Warp widget and Scale Factor
Thanks Mike, You don't need to built a workflow in a Workflow Window: I used history and saved it as a workflow. Here is what I've done: - Open a RAW file in RAW dialog, OK - Transformation/Geometry/Warp, contract to a smallish trapezoid by dragging corners, reduce Scale Factor liberally, OK - Save ...

Re: RAW Dialog: Hilite Recovery problem
I'm not sure which parts of dcraw are used in PWP, but here is a discussion on possible combination of highlight modes and the sensor saturation settings in dcraw that determine how RAW channels are scaled and that can cause the magenta casts in the hightlights (section on Sensor Saturation Levels):...

Warp widget and Scale Factor
Can others check it: Process a RAW file, then use Warp on the result. Reduce the Warp Scale Factor to <1. Save the file and associated workflow. If I open the RAW and 'apply the associated workflow' (i.e. RAW+Warp), the Warp part misbehaves. If the Scale Factor is left alone, Warp seems to work fine.

Re: Match Reference and Macbeth Dynamic Range
I forgot to ask: is the .cc step done internally in RGB space and, if it is, does it have to? Would HSV work any better?

Re: Match Reference and Macbeth Dynamic Range
I'm trying to use Match reference in two separate projects: A) to calibrate the camera+RAW with what I have (i.e. camera, macbeth and PWP). I would like to bring the RAW colours to a standard, from which I could edit it more. B) to use it as intended i.e. to correct images where colour checker is pa...

Re: Match Reference and Macbeth Dynamic Range
There is another aspect of Match Reference that I don't understand. I have two images of the Macbeth chart: one a little bright, the other a little darker, but none of the patches is blown or blocked. For the brighter one, the values of the patches happen to be v. close to their theoretical values i...

Re: Macbeth Colour Checker and Illumination temperature
On older PWP CDs I believe there were simulated images of Macbeth, as rendered in three different RGB colour spaces. I imagine that their RGB values were computed from published xyY, and would be the closest to those that Match Reference is trying map the reference image to, internally. Can I still ...

Re: Match Reference and Macbeth Dynamic Range
Many thanks. I did a few more 'reverse engineering' trials with Match Reference and it's curves, trying to figure out how to use it with grace with RAW files. It seems that: - typically, the photographed Macbeth dynamic range is well within the processed RAW range (under different lighting, exposure...

Match Reference and Macbeth Dynamic Range
Why would setting the Dmin=0 and Dmax=3.7 in Match Reference on the processed RAW image be the right settings to get the set of Colour curves so that the 6 gray squares at the bottom are mapped to their assumed values for the gamma of the working colour space? What's the mathematics of it? It seems ...

Re: How to make small percent adjustments?
For the Amount slider, Control-clicking on the square right of the slider will 'mirror' the slider(s) about the middle (50%) point,'permanently' (i.e. without having to depress the square with the mouse). This is new to PWP5 I believe, and especially useful for the switching black/white sliders when...
