Re: "Gamma error in picture scaling"?

Dieter, The simplistic way I understand it is that there are three places where gamma and inverse gamma are applied: 1) the response of camera sensor (the normalized RAW values) is roughly linear with respect to the light intensity that falls on it - there is no gamma here 2) the pixel values of the...

Re: X-Rite ColorChecker Passport and PWP5

In principle, if the scene illumination is uniform, the standard 24-patch Macbeth card should do a better job in bringing the lighting and camera-sensor/RAW processor peculiarities to a standard, well defined starting point, than a single-point calibration with a gray card as reference. Match Refere...

Re: New Picture Window Pro Update

Would it make sense at all to combine Extract Channels, Combine Channels, Reassign Channel, and the amount sliders from the Monochrome/Channel Mixer into one transformation, if technically feasible? The inspiration comes from the Levels and Color: arguably, each individual adjustment could have been...

Re: RE : Download of 5.0 Manual hangs the PC

Dugg, There are at least two other reach sources of information that you can use to learn/evaluate PWP: - The PWP Help (which you should have if you downloaded the trial version of PWP) - In addition to this forum, there are two older forums that you can find here: http://www.dl-c.com/board/viewtopi...

Re: Making "Hockney" style joiners

You may consider installing a PDF printer driver (e.g PrimoPDF) and print your album to a PDF file, which can be then saved and displayed on a LCD projector using PDF reader (e.g. Foxit Reader). PWP also has a Layout transformation whose result can be saved as a regular raster image file (e.g. JPG) ...

Re: BMP-files - disadvantage?

It may seem a strange question: is there a 'standard' image equivalent of ASCII text file - just readable pixel values and nothing else?

Re: BMP-files - disadvantage?

Somewhat off topic: what info does BMP header contain? I've heard of 'raw' bitmaps (i.e. just pixel data, no headers, no metadata) - I'm not sure if there is a standard format for them. What would be a raster format that would by default contain minimum extra information on the image?

Re: question for Den

There was a better recipe by Jonathan, but I can't find it. It may have been in the Suggestions section. Some other discussions. http://dl-c.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=73&page=1#Item_0 http://dl-c.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=109&page=1#Item_0 http://dl-c.com/forum/comments.p...
