Re: Grainy Previews

The previews are low resolution images (for speed). Changing to Large Size doesn't change this. To evaluate (many) transformations you will need to set your preview window to 1:1 and scroll to a suitable region.

Re: Macbeth Colour Checker and Slide Film

Maciej, I don't know how the IT8 slides were created. If I can find out how they were produced it is possible to create ICC profiles for the various slide brands based on the measured data (I need the input colorimetric data). Then you can do a soft proofing with these profiles to figure out how the...

Re: Macbeth Colour Checker and Slide Film

What exactly do you need? I have no data of the Macbeth Colour Checker patches, but a long time ago I purchased IT8 calibration slides from Wolf Faust (for slide scanners). The batches are produced with very tight tolerances and each batch is measured by Faust with calibrated equipment. So if you ar...

Re: EXIF stripping in workflow

As a workaround you can download EXIF Tool and EXIF Tool GUI (both freeware) and remove the EXIF-data from a batch of files: http://freeweb.siol.net/hrastni3/foto/e ... oolgui.htm
Windows only as far as I know.

Re: Printing on transparancies

Mike, The Epson Claria inks are definitely dye-based. Epson offers various pigment-based inks, a.o. the Durabrite, and printers with 4 ink and multiple-ink systems. So the pigment systems are not limited to 4 colors. I suppose that your transparancy is suitable for water based inkjet. Otherwise you ...

Re: RAW recalculation

There have been no reactions yet to the proposals that Maciej made. I myself have similar wishes, although it might be difficult or impossible to implement. I like the results of the RAW conversion, but trying different settings is time consuming. As a consequence, I mainly use default settings and ...

No info in Properties tab in RAW dialog

When I process a .pef RAW file, the Properties tab in the RAW dialog box is empty. Not that important, but sometimes it's convenient to view the info. I downloaded a couple of RAW sample files from the web, also different camera makes and .dng files, but the result is the same. I don't know whether ...

bad pixel file not used when re-processing a RAW-file?

When I process a RAW file, a sidecar .wfl file is generated.
If I process the same file again, the bad pixel file seems to be ignored. If I delete the .wfl file and reprocess the same RAW file, the bad pixels are corrected.
Anyone else who experienced the same??

Re: Software help needed!

Bruce, although I'm no graphic artist I use PS occasionally in my job, mainly for creating test files, not for image editing. PS is originally not made with the photographer in mind, but can do almost anything a photographer could think of. Because of the many, many possibilities it is easy to get l...
