Brightness Adding Control Points Using the Probe , extra

Hi I nice way I saw with a friend (I think inside acd see) is that after clicking and keeping the mouse button down it a movement up or down was directly applied to the curve. So click on it, move upward and that new controlpoint is moved upwards. If I remeber it correctly PS has a similar feature i...

Re: Out of memory error processing big files

Hi I did some timing : A saturation transform takes 6 seconds on my images (preview is much faster even on rather big previews) and uses only one core. This is normally almost the only thing happening on my computer then. If pw 6 would support 4 cores good I would be able to get up to a 6x speed inc...

Re: XPS Driver

Hi

Printing in 16 bit doesn't give an advantage :

Using 16bit untill the conversion to the printer/paper icc profile does.

Re: Out of memory error processing big files

Hi Kiril, Thanks for the answer, but it's the application that's starting (and keeping "feeding") the threads. Some launch as much threads as CPU's and divide the image in lot's off tiles (for example 128*128 -or 190*190 in size depending on type), if done carefully this can lead to an nea...

Re: Out of memory error processing big files

Hi

Will the 6.0 version support more multiple CPU calculations?

And a specific question : I'm probably upgrading to either a 4 or 6 core CPU, will 6.0 use 6 cores for some applications?

Re: Printer

I do follow you for a pigment printer, not about the mat paper. There are some very good other papers (Harman Gloss FB AL, Ilford Gold fibre silk,...) and those have a lot more dynamic range. If somebody wants to print B&W it's highly recommended to use a printer with 3 blacks (black, grey and li...

soft proofing (like in the "camera to print" video)

Hi I've seen there're change softproofing buttons to flip very fast between softproofing and not softproofing. Are they acting on the complete screen or only on the active window? (now testing on a laptop where the screen is the bottleneck) I refer to a technique from the Lula "camera to print&...

Re: chrome 2000 vs SMPTE-240M vs recent printers

Hi Jonathan

What do you recommend as a working space for use with RAW digital capture (16-bit), prophoto is most recommended with other programs/info sites?

I've also seen some diagrams with possible colors in "real live", which is much smaller than all possibilities.

chrome 2000 vs SMPTE-240M vs recent printers

Hi Recent printers (for example epson 7900, but also the epson xx80 range) can print beyond the SMPTE-240M colorspace, how is this compared to chrome 2000? BTW. The chart in the color_Management.pdf unfortunaly does'nt show the difference between chrome 2000 vs SMPTE-240M in the yellows and red/magn...
